Afghan Whigs take on the Police, the results are sexy and a little dangerous.

They played their version of the 1981 hit “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” during their Morning Becomes Eclectic session and it was everything a cover should be –a really inspired interpretation with a dark twist that is pure Afghan Whigs.

I’ve seen versions of this cover floating around but the internet, but this is the best one I’ve heard.

Apparently they flirted with the idea of included it on their latest full length “Do To the Beast” but the demo didn’t make the final cut.

The band tends towards soul covers – they released an EP of Stax/Motown era tracks called “Uptown Avondale” on Sub Pop in the early 90’s and more recently did an incredible version of Marie Queenie LyonsSee and Don’t See “”.

Perhaps they will release another covers EP in the future…I would love to see their take on a LOT of songs.

In the meantime, take a listen to their full session on MBE.
