Morning Becomes Eclectic producer Ariana Morgenstern runs down the most-watched Morning Becomes Eclectic videos of the year on KCRW’s You Tube channel. Check them out here or view them below!

From Ariana:

As you clicked to watch these performances, you contributed to their success and created a scrapbook of the year’s highlights.

And what a year we’ve had! Adele took a break from her heavy touring schedule to perform new songs, up close and personal in our small performance space. Watch her delicately holding her headphones, nailing the song and lovingly watching her pianist as the final notes fade of “Someone Like You”. Little Dragon got their start at KCRW and returned the favor by taping a special session for us around their excellent album “Ritual Union”.

Our session with The Kills at Tequila Mockingbird studios in Austin was captured in the midst of SXSW chaos. Check out Allison Mosshart’s red eyebrows and witness a poignant musical moment. Our friends from Oklahoma, the lush symphonic band Other Lives, got Jason Bentley out of his seat, watching intensely at the window separating Master Control and the performance studio.

It was good to have Feist back and that session was among her first live performances and interviews for the new record “Metals“. It’s great to see a couple LA bands — Cold War Kids and Grouplove – on this list, along with UK rockers White Lies and Swedish singer Lykke Li, with a captivating performance of “I Follow Rivers”.

The biggest hit of the year is from Gotye. His song “Someone That I Used to Know” comes to life as he and singer Kimbra (a rising star in her own right) play their parts in the emotional breakup ballad.

Check out more recent highlights here. Happy holidays!
