Track Premiere: Cloves – California Numb

It’s always a pleasure to premiere a new song on KCRW.com/music, and today’s feature is no exception! This time around, we bring you a track from Australia’s own Cloves.

Cloves brings swagger to her slight crooner style with “California Numb,” which deals with catching yourself off guard and becoming someone you don’t want to become. Her new direction is intriguing, and has me looking forward to her debut album.

We’ve previously played her singles “Frail Love” and “Don’t Forget About Me” at KCRW, and she was also featured at our 2016 SXSW Showcase.

Last year Cloves opened for artist James Bay and right now she’s featured on a sold out tour with Michael Kiwanuka. Check her out *tonight* at The Fonda.
