Triptych comes to three Scottish cities – Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh April 25 – 27 to -‘ celebrate global icons, sonic iconoclasts , seminal cinema and auspicious local talent’. 2008 is Triptych’s eighth and final year in its current format, and it’s putting on a spectacular swansong featuring Gilles Peterson, RZA, Jamie Lidell, Mogwai, The Fence Collective and Four Tet. There’s also film screenings – Jim Jarmusch’s ‘Ghost Dog’ and ‘High Tech Soul: the creation of techno music, a film competition and the website has an amazing playlist so check it out here…

Stagecoach and the best in country music - trad, alt and some bluegrass too. Stagecoach takes place the weekend after Coachella (some savvy production planning there) May 2nd – May 4th.

and features Glen Campbell, The Eagles, Earl Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, The Judds, Shelby Lynne and The Carolina Chocolate Drops. In addition to the music you can check out antique cowboy gear (aka well worn chaps?!), rawhide

sculptures (whatever they may be), saddle making, lasso and trail boss seminars – I’m not quite sure what some of the things I just mentioned mean but they all sound like a lot of fun.

Bang Face Weekender. Taking place at the seaside in Camber Sands Holiday Park, this is 3 days of’ neo rave armaggedon ‘. Bang Face have been behind a number of great club nights and parties at The Glade in Glastonbury, so rest assured you are in good party making hands. Artists on the bill include Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, Model 500 and Plaid. Camber Sands has a big pool so bring your cossie (that’s bathing suits to my American pals).

If you go to any of these events let me know or send me a pic!
