reports that parents have started pulling their children out of the school. On Monday, Mark Berndt was jailed on $23 million bond under accusations that he molested 23 children between the ages of 6 to ten. Berndt had worked for the school for 30 years.

Superindendent John Deasy released this statement:

Yesterday morning, information came to our attention concerning allegations of possible inappropriate behavior involving a second teacher at Miramonte Elementary School. As a result, this teacher was immediately removed from the classroom. He will remain off campus pending an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. At the request of the Sheriff’s Department, we are not releasing the name of the teacher nor the nature of the allegations.
