Local identical twin duo Ablebody really wowed me with their 2013 debut EP, “All My Everybody.” Within it’s five self produced tracks, it managed to sound sophisticated, deeply romantic, whimsical, and enticingly sinister all at the same time. This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who knows Christoph and Anton Hochheim’s background; between the two of them they’ve played with a myriad of other indiepop groups perhaps most notably the Pains of Being Pure at Heart and the Depreciation Guild. On their first full length album, Adult Contemporaries, they’ve stepped up their game by employing Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti producer Kenny Gilmore, and filling out the band to a four piece. One thing that’s remained constant is their impeccable gift for song craft.

Check out the video for their latest single, “Send Me a Letter.” I’ve been playing this song on KCRW since October of last year when I was lucky enough to get a few advance tracks from the album, and I could not be happier to be sharing the video with you now. Get ready to lose yourself in it’s gloriously eerie night time beach setting, not to mention the glorious melody…

Catch Ablebody’s album release party at the Bootleg Theater on Tuesday October 18th also featuring sets from Ducktails, Winter, Wyatt Blair, and yours truly on the decks all night between bands.
