The voter registration deadline was Feb 21. If you missed the deadline, you can still participate. Here’s how. If you want to vote early, here’s how.

Are you an LA city resident?
From Ballotpedia: The city of Los Angeles, California, will hold primary elections for mayor, eight city council seats, city attorney, and city controller on March 7, 2017. Any race where no candidate earns a majority (50 percent plus one) of the primary votes cast will advance to a general election on May 16, 2017.
Local Ballot measures
Local municipalities are facing a handful of ballot measures. Los Angeles (the city) has four. Measure M andMeasure Nhave to do with taxing and permitting legal pot. Measure P seeks to extend Harbor leases. And Measure S, the most high-profile of the three, puts a moratorium on developments that require a zoning variance.

Mayoral race:
LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is up for re-election. He needs to get over 50 percent of the vote in order to avoid a runoff in May.

LA County
School Board:
Los Angeles Times education reporter, Howard Blume tells KCRW: “What‘s at stake here is possible control of school majority between candidates who are supported by the teacher’s union and candidates who are supported by charter school forces.”
