The last thing I expected to see when I walked into Master Control to watch Washed Out was frontman Ernest Greene strumming a guitar. Not only that, but he had a full band with him, including a stand up bass player.

Washed Out was in the first wave of bands that made “chillwave” a genre and will always be linked to electro music on some level, no matter how many dreamy, organic layers are on top of it.

Ernest says his purpose with the new record was to “take you on a journey”. Jason Bentley described his previous record as “babymaking music” with more of a nocturnal vibe while his latest, “Paracosms’ feels more like daytime.

Ernest confirmed the theory and you can hear it for yourself right here!
