The promise of the World Wide Web has been widely touted over the past decade or so. The phase we’re in now emphasizes user-generated content such as blogs, YouTube, MySpace and Wikipedia, and is often referred to as Web 2.0. Is Web 2.0 the ultimate democratization of the media? Why is it valuable? Has it made the world more confusing? Has Web 2.0 hits its peak and plateaued or are we at the cutting edge of a whole new era in media that’s just beginning to emerge?
