All of our DJs receive hundreds of CDs a month to consider for airplay. In this regular feature, KCRW DJ Chuck Pcatalogues his musical bounty from the Post Office each week.

Weather is so beautiful this week. That sweet spot between fall and winter. The only drag? Fertilizing the new grass. Everyone does it at the same time. I feel like I’m living in a stockyard.

Luckily, it was much sweeter at the post office today.

Expatriate – “In The Midst Of This” Australians getting their 2007 release issued here in the states.

2) Olof Arnalds – “Innundir Skinni” Brilliant new album features guest vocals from Bjork on one of the best tracks. Fragile and beautiful.

3) Various Artists “Tradi-Mods vs Rockers – Alternative Takes on Congotronics” A two cd set of indie rock and world music artists covering and remixing/reworking the excellent Congotronics catalog. Animal Collective, Juana Molina, AU, Deerhoof, Oneida, Woom and so many more. Only heard a few tracks so far, and now regret I didn’t have this in time to include it in my Top Ten of 2010. I’m guessing there will be a few of those late year releases that missed the deadline.

I’m going to devote a show later this year to all of the releases I fell in love with in 2010 that were not included in my Top 10. It’s been a great year for new music.

Best,

Chuck P.
