You feverishly dial KCRW just before the midnight deadline. You have got to win that trip, that car, that computer — you need it! But alas, another KCRW membership drive passes and you didn’t win anything, except of course, good karma points. Ever wonder who did win? Well, here are KCRW’s 2010 Winter Membership Drive’s winners to tell you all about their whirlwind trip to Florence. Don’t hate them because they’re beautiful!
We have just returned from our trip to Florence, and we can’t thank you enough. What a fantastic adventure.
We met some amazing people, ate some incredible food, saw some serious art and heard some fantastic music. Enclosed are a few of the thousands of pictures I took.
The view of the Arno river is from our hotel room window – pretty awesome. The animal skulls and wax skeleton is from the Museum of Zoology and Natural History “La Specola”. It is a wonderful relic of a museum with room after room of detailed wax renderings of the human body (by Gaetano Zumbo 1656-1701) and taxidermy. The couple (us) were spending a typical evening of drinking and eating in the Plaza San Spirito. And the rest were taken on one of our many miles of walks.
