In anticipation of the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, KCRW asked listeners to talk about where they were and what has changed for them since that day. While many are personal reflections and individual experiences, it is clear there are common threads that tie them together. This is a community memorial, a way to remember a horrible act that took thousands of lives, wounded a nation, and, as these voices remind us, bound us together ways that will linger long past September 11, 2011. We present these listener comments with only minor changes for audio or space reasons. We thank everyone who took the time to share their thoughts, and welcome your comments as well.
