As the host of FREAKS ONLY, I've always got my ear to the ground to unearth up-and-coming acts and new sounds that I want the world to know more about.
The most rewarding part of my job is that I get to see acts that we've supported on the show take their careers to another level. I saw Nation of Language sell out two headline shows at the Lodge Room earlier this year, Wet Leg go from completely unknown to the world’s most buzzed about rock band in the span of nine months, and a band we’ve championed on the show catch the ear of a manager and set off their first tour.
The victories are big and small, but to the acts involved, it can make all the difference between making a living in music or having to hang onto a day job.
