The occasion of a Los Angeles theater festival offers playwright John Steppling, whose play Phantom Luck is included in the new anthology Fever Dreams (Padua Playwrights Press), the chance to talk about theater in general and what's wrong with it. Difficult questions arise ("should pleasure be part of the theater experience?") and get answered in surprising and/or alarming ways.
