1. inCONVERSATION with Susan Szenasy
Longtime editor of Metropolis Magazine, Susan Szenasy is making a rare appearance in L.A. this week at A+D Museum where she’ll give a lecture do a book signing. Known as an advocate for human-centered design, she has “led the charge on issues ranging from universal design to emerging trends of consumer excess, from design for disassembly to the recovery of Lower Manhattan’s communities after 9/11, from design education to the social and environmental impacts of the buildings and products we manufacture.”

2. Matthew Barney: The Cremaster Cycle
Head to the Billy Wilder Theater at the Hammer Museum this week where they will be screening Matthew Barney’s The Cremaster Cycle over the course of the week. With “cult status” in the art world, the film “is an evocation of the creative process by Barney, a sculptor and performance artist.”
When: April 21-24, 2015

3. Dior and I
Dior and I is director Frederic Tcheng’s new documentary that follows Raf Simons as he joins Dior and creates his first collection there as creative director. Viewers of the film will be surprised by the rare behind-the-scenes journey the film takes that shows the critical role of the seamstresses in the Dior atelier in the creative process.

4. Tadao Ando Booksigning
Join Japanese architect Tadao Ando this Friday where he’ll be signing the latest edition of his book Ando: Complete Works 1975-2014.

5. Projection
The Bates Motel in Silver Lake has been a sitting reminder of the East side’s less gentrified past. Recently it’s been transformed with eco-friendly limewash into a shockingly clean clean canvas for the upcoming ‘Projection‘ project by French artist Vincent Lamouroux.
When: April 26, 2015 from 3PM to 8PM
