In Secret" is based on Emile Zola's Thérèse Raquin, a 19th century tale of passion, murder and guilt.

The infantile heroine of Barefoot doesn't wear shoes because they hurt her feet. She's played by Evan Rachel Wood, who can't be blamed for the blissed-out idiocy of the script...
