I’ve posted before about my favorite Connecticut treats (see my thoughts on lobster rolls). Though I grew up in NYC, my parents live outside New Haven, an area that’s become quite a foodie destination. Nevermind the incredible pizza, of course, which was formerly Southeast Connecticut’s biggest claim to fame. Now, add cupcakes to that list. Sugar Bakery in East Haven, CT, is the new winner of Cupcake Wars. My friend Chloe and her family stopped by and tried a few flavors, including the winning Peanut Butter Riot. Read more about the mother-daughter owners here.

And if you like cupcakes, definitely check out Candace Nelson’s Guest DJ Project.
