It's Finally Time: 'Star Wars' Is Here

After executing an ambitious premiere earlier in the week, Star Wars opens wide tonight. There's no question the film will break box office records. The only thing left to wonder is exactly how big will it get?

We know Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be huge, but exactly how big will it open? We'll know in a few days time, but no one will be surprised if it proves to be the largest opening weekend of all time. The current record-holder is Universal's Jurassic World, which opened in June of this year -- traditionally the time for big block blusters. Normally over the winter holidays there are four or five big movies and enough time for people to see a couple of them, but this year may see Star Wars roll over everything. And when it is all said and done, could this Star Wars be the highest-grossing film of all time? It depends if people will want to go to the theater to see it multiple times, as they did with Titanic and Avatar.
