News from CinemaCon

Hosted by and

Michael Schneider and Kim Masters banter about some news out of CinemaCon, the annual gathering of movie theater owners in Las Vegas. Last year's global box office has hit a new high thanks, in large part, to China, but on the domestic front, younger viewers aren't going to movies as much as they once did. Finally some odd news from John Fithian, the head of NATO (the National Association of Theater Owners). He said publicly that he didn't watch 12 Years a Slave in the theater. He said it was so intense that he chose to watch it at home. Naturally, Fox Searchlight, who distributed the Oscar Best Picture winner, was not happy.
