Steven Spielberg Negotiating New Deal for DreamWorks

Steven Spielberg's company DreamWorks has been at Disney since 2009, and it looks like that relationship will end next summer, following the release of Spielberg's film The BFG. For all the years DreamWorks has had deals with other studios, Spielberg has kept his office at Universal, and it looks like that is where he'll return. Spielberg holds an immense amount of clout in the industry -- he executive produced Jurassic World, the record-breaking blockbuster for Universal that already has a follow-up on the books for 2018. His involvement is essential to that franchise as well as others at Universal, so it makes sense that the studio would be eager to make a deal with him.
