The Democratic National Convention is underway in Philadelphia. The Golden State is well represented. LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and his predecessor, Antonio Villaraigosa, are among the speakers from California. Why don't their high profiles garner them top speaking slots?

The Democratic National Convention is underway in Philadelphia complete with controversy over hacked e-mails, Hillary Clinton favoritism and the DNC chair's resignation. Bernie supporters are clashing with Clinton faithful and the California delegation is well represented. LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and his predecessor, Antonio Villaraigosa, are among the speakers from the Golden State. Kevin Roderick explains why they don't have great speaking slots and what's at stake.
