- Checking in on Toronto. The splashiest distribution deal to come out of this year’s festival is Paramount scooping up Chris Rock’s ‘Top Five.’

- Star of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Andrew Garfield told the Daily Beast that he took issue with some of the production elements of the Sony superhero movie.

- Sony CEO Michael Lynton says the down summer at the box office is partially because of the similarities of movies being offered.

- Cable network A&E cancels ‘Longmire,’ even though it’s their second most-watched show.
