House of Lies began its third season on January 12, and creator Matthew Carnahan and star Don Cheadle agree that the show really hits its stride this year. With less of a need for the exposition of season one, the writers are free to flesh out the characters more. For Cheadle, who plays management consultant Marty Kaan, that means exploring his character's self-loathing and his relationship with his gender-curious son, Roscoe. In this interview, recorded live at the Film Independent at LACMA screening series, Carnahan explains how season three will have a much quieter and more existential ending.
