Mommy is Xavier Dolan's fifth film, about a recent widow (Anne Dorval) who is struggling to raise her teenager (Antoine-Olivier Pilon) who is unpredictable and sometimes violent. Mommy was Canada's official submission for Best Foreign Language film at the Academy Awards. This conversation was produced as part of the Film Independent at LACMA screening series.
