According to Athlete, the title of their new album, “Black Swan,” is about the moments in your life where something happens and, in an instant, your entire worldview changes. Singer Joel Potts joked it was a pretty serious conversation to have before noon, but the London-based band has always specialized is soaring pop anthems and its not surprising there is something truly meaningful behind them.

Jason Bentley even jokingly flipped out his cell phone and waved it side to side during “Wires” (no lighters allowed in the studio!) and got a smile out of Joel. “The Getaway” is another highlight of their new album, which I think is the best since “Tourist,” a personal fave.
