Today, Band of Skulls released their Morning Becomes Eclectic live session from June 5, 2009 as an 8-song album on iTunes. The KCRW performance was their U.S. radio debut!

They liked the sound of it so much, they decided to make it available to their fans while they work on the follow up to “baby darling doll face honey.” The session includes tracks, “I Know What I Am,” “Death by Diamonds and Pearls,” “Light of the Morning,” “Fires” and other songs from their debut.

The band is offering the KCRW session version of “Fires” as a free download on their Facebook page and you can hear/watch the entire session in our archives here.

Stream “Fires” here:

Editor’s Note: I was home sick and not at the station the day Band of Skulls played. This is the only performance I’ve missed that I truly, truly regret. I was laid up in bed with my laptop on my lap while they totally rocked it. Luckily, it lives on!
