Chan Marshall, the artist known as Cat Power, just recently announced her first album in six years, Wanderer, scheduled to be released on Domino Records the first week of October. It is a record she has hinted at for about a year, since posting on her social media that she had her 10th album “ready to go.” Well, it is finally Go Time!!!

To seal the deal, she has released an advance track from the record. The title cut, a brief, but evocative album opener, captures some of what we’ve come to expect from Cat Power: the sonic equivalent of a beautiful bouquet of flowers in a starkly barren landscape, as the teaser video depicts. But there are bound to be some new surprises in store as well, such as an announced guest spot from Lana Del Rey.

Wander around with it yourself:

Wanderer will be released October 5 on Domino Records. Her 2018 world tour comes to Southern California over Thanksgiving week.
