Dita Von Teese is Our Guest DJ

Dita Von Teese is a burlesque star with a glamorous retro pin up look that is unmistakable. She’s absolutely gorgeous and she showed up to the Guest DJ Project taping in a lace dress, gloves – the whole bit. She had just come from Larry Flynt’s office!

Dita told us she’s a “girl’s girl,” which I got right away. And she’s not a huge fan of folks who strive for celebrity instead of achieving fame through hard work, which is pretty refreshing.

She has incredible stories – about her life in Paris, walking in a Jean Paul Gaultier’s fashion show and her former life as a raver chick. She even told us her favorite striptease song!

Perhaps my favorite part was when she described a La Roux remix that had been given to her by the late DJ AM. You can hear the track below but you HAVE to hear how she talks about it. Find her Guest DJ Project set here.

p.s.: After the taping, she also told us about getting a phone call in the middle of the night to go to Prince’s house and pretty much getting a personal concert with a few other people where she could request any song she wanted and he would play it. (Her request was “Head” – which she told us is her favorite song to get ready to).
