James Blake, Low, Joseph Arthur, and More on KCRW

Written by

Monday, September 19, Our DJs have been championing UK singer James Blake and his breathtakingly spartan musical style for some time and we’re thrilled to hear songs from his debut in a live setting.  The gifted 22 year old makes his KCRW debut on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Wednesday, September 21,
From Duluth, Minnesota, the band Low are pioneers of slow tempos and minimalist arrangements yet their 9th studio album “C’Mon” is the most compelling to date. They’ll share new songs when they join Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Thursday, September 22, A prolific and captivating artist Joseph Arthur spent much of last year with Ben Harper and Dhani Harrison as Fistful of Mercy, yet he found time to continue his solo work. We’ll hear songs from his latest release “The Graduation Ceremony” when we catch up with him on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Wednesday, September 28, Release the Sunbird is a side project from Zach Rogue of Rogue Wave that delivers sun-kissed songs, with sweet harmonies. We’ll be treated to live versions of new songs on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Thursday, September 29, The word Tinariwen means desert and it is the name taken by a phenomenal collective of musicians from the Sahara playing what is best called “desert blues”. Their mind-bending blues guitar playing is something to behold and we will see it for ourselves on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Friday, September 30, On the heels of their Hollywood Bowl performance TV on the Radio return to KCRW to perform songs of love and longing from “Nine Types of Light” on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.
