The last time we caught up with Nilüfer Yanya was just about two years ago. Oct. 6, 2022 to be exact. She was here for a Guest DJ set. That was the same year that Yanya released her sophomore album PAINLESS, cementing her as one of the UK’s most interesting and thoughtful songwriters — lauded by critics worldwide for crafting a signature sound that’s equal parts ethereal and grungy.

After releasing and touring PAINLESS, Yanya entered a period of transition, between albums, between record companies, between homes… between… everything. But she emerged this year with her third studio album My Method Actor. On it, she explores new ideas sonically and thematically and along the way she unearths new emotion and inquiry.
