James Vincent McMorrow’s voice is simply stunning – beautiful and haunting, it stops you in your tracks. Jason Bentley is a big fan of this Irish singer songwriter and his music is finally seeing a U.S. release today!

To celebrate, we’re streaming “If I Had Boat” below:

James recorded his debut full length “Early in the Morning” entirely by himself in a seaside cabin and you can hear the sea in the waves of sound that come at you, stormy but purposeful. It’s hard to do anything else when listening to this music. It’s folk music with a heaviness that is welcome. Kevin at Buzzbands.la compares him to Bon Iver and I think fans of that artist will be ALL over this.

p.s.: James will be playing one of KCRW’s showcases at SXSW this year! Stay tuned for more updates. I’m really excited about what we have in store…
