Junip’s full length “Fields” was among the top 20 most played albums here at KCRW in 2010 and the band returns to LA for a show Friday night at the El Rey. Tickets are still available and to provide some extra incentive, here is a remix of their track “In Every Direction” by Detroit indie-pop duo Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr.

There are so many things to love about Junip, a project from Jose Gonzalez, with fellow Swedes Tobias Winterkorn (keyboards), Elias Araya (drums). The music is haunting and beautiful. It’s delicate but not slight or simple. It reveals itself to you instead of hitting you over the head. Their live performance on KCRW was really special and you can check it out in the archives here.
