LA synth pop trio DWNTWN has been on my radar for a few months now and they are finally releasing their EP “The Red Room”, with the undeniably catchy single “See My Eyes”, on Tuesday, November 13. The song just sparkles. It’s dreamy but totally dancefloor ready at the same time.

KCRW is happy to offer an exclusive free download of the track and you can stream it below.

DWNTWN will be celebrating the release with a performance at School Night at Bardot, a night put together by KCRW’s own Chris Douridas.

Broken hearts inspire a lot of music and that’s how this band came together. After lead singer Jamie Leffler ended a 5-year relationship with Robert Cepeda‘s brother, she approached the musician – who plays guitar and keys – about writing music together. Seems a bit odd but it works! They added Jerrod Bettis on drums as they began playing live.

Check them out live tonight and keep an eye out for this lovable LA group.
