KCRW Top 20 (12/2 - 12/8)

As we wrap up the year, we were so pleased to have Beck - a KCRW favorite - come through the doors for his 11th visit dating back to 1993. He played songs from his new album Hyperspace including one of my favorites called "Uneventful Days" (co-written by Pharrell).

Coming from Texas, Dayglow presents us with the indie bedroom pop song “Hot Rod,” from his debut album Fuzzybrain. He is definitely an artist to watch.

Picked as KCRW’s Best New Artist of 2019, Black Pumas have given us a raw retro beat with vocals that path the road of positivity with the song "Old Man." There’s no doubt why they are nominated for a Grammy as Best New Artist this year.

FKJ also known as French Kiwi Juice has a new project out on his 6 track EP, Ylang Ylang. We are featuring his song, "Brother" which is a soulful groove based campfire track. Known for being a leader in French house, he has taken a step forward to show us his range of talent.

What is a list without the musically conceptual Moses Sumney? Not a good one. When I first heard, "Virile," I was mesmerized how enchanting Moses’ falsetto voice just wraps such a beautiful haunting sound around my body. If this track is a preview to what will come in 2020, I will be strongly anticipating a pure level of virtuosity. KCRW has been following Moses’ career for many years and we are extremely proud of his accomplishments and will bring the New Year forward with excellence from his forthcoming album, græ.
