Kylie Auldist: Artist You Should know

Kylie Minogue CD (Abbey Road Sessions?) which I quickly dismissed, only to discover another Kylie just underneath – Kylie Auldist. When I saw the label Tru Thoughts, I knew I was in for something good.

This soul-singing Kylie is half-Samoan, but born and bred in the outback of Australia. “Still Life” is her 3rd album and is fantastic from start to finish, including a cover of the Black Keys’ “Howlin’ For You”.

My favorites are “Changes” (there’s also a great extended remix of the track byLanu) and “Counting On You” (which got airplay from KCRW DJs Raul Campos, Anne Litt, Valida and more)
