KCRW has partnered with local indie label IAMSOUND on their LA Collection to spotlight local artists you should know. The label is releasing a series of limited edition split 7″ singles and we are debuting the tracks exclusively online!

Stream Nosaj Thing’s Night Crawler from IAMSOUND

Local beat technician Nosaj Thing (aka Jason Chung) released a hauntingly beautiful debut last year and we’re thrilled to offer a stream of his new song “Night Crawler.” The artist has ties to L.A.’s glitch hop scene, performing regularly atLow End Theory club nights alongside another KCRW favorite, Flying Lotus. KCRW DJs were big fans of his full length “Drift”

Married duo Rainbow Arabia blend electro-acoustic dance sounds and world music for their “Fourth World Pop.” While 2009 was a busy year for the band, this is the first original material they’ve released in 2010. Their track “Sun’s On The Rise” is currently available for download and streaming as Today’s Top Tune.

They’ve already released two well received EPs and collaborated on The Field remix EP, which just recently came out on Kompakt (with Gold Panda and Walls), and are gearing up for the release of their first full length in the second half of 2010. They play Space 1520 on April 25 at 2pm if you want to catch them live.

The records themselves are being sold on the IAMSOUNDwebsite, at Pure Groove Records in the UK, and at local LA record shops (Origami, Amoeba, Vacation Vinyl, etc.)
