Love From London: The Japanese Popstars

Written by

The Japanese Popstars are refreshingly self-deprecating in person, especially as they are the UK dance music industry’s latest crush. (and are clearly not Japanese, as you can see from the photo above)

Their forthcoming album “Controlling the Allegiance” (out June 13) features collaborations with The Cure’s Robert Smith, Jon Spencer (of Blues Explosion fame), psych folk singer James Vincent McMorrow and Chicago house legend Green Velvet,  which is making it one of the most anticipated albums of the summer.

Their latest single is “Joshua” and features vocals from Tom Smith (The Editors).

Having already toured the UK and gone down a storm, they now head out on their US tour. Their foot-stomping, body shaking live performance is definitely well recommended and worth checking out.
