Anyone who follows this blog knows I’m a sucker for a good soul song – old OR new.

And sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference, like in the case of a track Jason spun earlier this week by Myron & E called “If I Gave You My Love”.

LA’s excellent label Stones Throw is releasing their debut album “Broadway” on July 2 and this is just a taste. DOWNLOAD HERE

Myron & E originally met while on tour with Blackalicious(Cooke was the tour DJ, Glasper sang backup) and started a collaboration that resulted in a string of funk 45s before being signed last year.

Stones Throw discovered the Bay Area duo — Myron Glasper and Eric “E da Boss” Cooke – through their work with European retro-soul purveyors the Soul Investigators (if you don’t own Nicole Willis and the Soul Investigators 2005 album “Keep Reaching Up”, get it. It’s incredible).

Looking forward to seeing these guys live when they make it to LA.
