There’s a new trio album by Italian pianist Stefano Battaglia, called The River of Anyder. Anyder is a mythical river in Utopia.

It’s very much an ECM cd, with clear, crystalline recorded sound against a backdrop of absolute silence. He’s joined by an Italian acoustic bass player and drummer, two guys I had never heard of but who complement him perfectly. They are musically telepathic and symbiotic.
