A phenomenal Future Islands remix was unleashed at the end of 2014 by BadBadNotGood and now Oakland’s Bells Atlas is taking on a track from their 2008 album” Wave Like Home”.
The Baltimore band’s slow synthy album ender is given a fresh take thanks to the sweet vocals of singer Sandra Lawson-Ndu.
They speed it up into a multi-layered pop tune with stop-start drum punctuations and dreamy backing vocals.
It’s a beautiful song and the feminine touch really gives it new life.
The band will be featured on a forthcoming Bandcamp compilation focused on Oakland’s standout acts and have a residency this month at ERA Art Bar for those up north. They’ll release an EP in springtime so look out for that.
