Former KCRW DJ Jason Eldredge is now based out of NYC and still stays in touch sending musings on his favorite artists of the moment. This one happens to be based here in LA!

“Never have I been so jealous to not be in Los Angeles than last weekend when Sam Sparro took the stage at the Sunset Junction in my old neighborhood. Unrecognizably clad head to toe in custom Asher Levine, his set was a critically acclaimed hit and so is what I’ve heard of his new material.

Back in 2006, I was one of the first DJs to play his major first single “Black & Gold” on KCRW and last month, he stopped by to visit my East Village Radio show in New York to premiere a brand new track called “Pink Cloud.” In his words, the jam is: “handbag house revival” and I couldn’t agree more.

While the first official single from his new album will be out later this year, “Pink Cloud” will be available mid-September as a free download on samsparro.com and will also be released as a limited edition vinyl featuring remixes from Nguzu Nguzu and Saint Le Roq.

Sam gave me the exclusive stream on this track for KCRW and you can hear it in its entirety right here:
