The Secret Sisters — Laura and Lydia Rogers – hail from Muscle Shoals, AL. and though they are a new names in music, they have some pretty well established artists behind them, namely Jack White, T-Bone Burnett and Carl Broemmel of My Morning Jacket.

These music masterminds have all contributed to the Secret Sisters recorded efforts, with Burnett producing their self-titled debut release, which harnesses a sound that is quintessentially America, including both covers and originals.

KCRW was the first radio station to get their hands on new music by the Secret Sisters and Jason immediately gravitated towards “I Got a Feeling.”

My ears perked up when I first heard it – it sounded old yet new and that pretty much describes the Secret Sisters.

Their album was recorded in just two weeks on vintage gear and includes their take on songs written by Hank Williams, Buck Owens and Bill Monroe, as well as originals like “Tenessee Me,” which KCRW will be offering as a free download next week as Today’s Top Tune. Also, the band will be performing live on Morning Becomes Eclectic on October 27. Tune in!
