Spoon continues to be one of the greatest bands of their generation and their new album solidifies that claim.
Their recorded output is consistently fantastic and, even while they are pushing the boundaries of the “Spoon” sound, you can almost recognize their songs immediately.
Also, a quarter century into their career, they still love playing live.
You can see it and you can feel it.
Frontman Britt Daniel was made for the stage — and our Apogee session, recorded before they kicked off a residency in Austin for SXSW, was a perfect way to experience many of the songs from their 9th album, “Hot Thoughts”.
