Local Natives with Jason Bentley

Local Natives‘ popularity continues to grow and grow and the LA band is now offering stems of their songs to other musicians and DJs who admire their work can take a shot at remixing songs from their debut album, include fellow locals Fool’s Gold, which just made their Hollywood Bowl debut as part of KCRW’s World Festival.

The Suckers remix of “Wide Eyes” seems to be the station favorite at the moment and its easy to see why — it deconstructs the band’s gorgeous harmonies and recreates the song with some heavy, groovy backbeats, and lots of other flourishes that are best heard through headphones. It still sounds Wide Eyed – and thoroughly enjoyable. Brooklyn-based Suckers and Local Natives are tour and labelmates and the mutual respect can be heard in this remix.

Wide Eyes – Suckers Remix

This track has been around for a few months but there are now great ones available on their site for streaming and download. Find them all here

(and maybe someone will remix their live performance on KCRW one day…who knows 🙂
