Tycho’s track “Apogee” – as remixed by Philly producer RJD2 – on Morning Becomes Eclecticand we wanted to share it here in case you missed it!

Tycho aka Scott Hansen has been touring almost non stop behind “Awake”, his fourth studio album. He played 29 countries in 2014 and 2015!

That kind of schedule doesn’t leave much time for recording new material, so his latest release will be a remix album out digitally on Ghostly International on January 15.

It features contributions from Vampire Weekend’s Baio, Com Truise, Christopher Willits, Bibio and Beacon.

RJD2 brings his distinct style to the table, transforming the track “Apogee” into tranquil instrumental funk.

Scott has been a fan of RJD2 since seeing him live at The Independent in San Francisco in 2004 — one of the first live club shows he ever saw.

He tells us that RJD2’s acoustic encore of “Making Days Longer” on guitar that evening was one of his favorite live music moments, because it was such a sharp contrast the 4 turntable set up used for the rest of the show.

It has always been a dream of Scott’s to collaborate with RJD2 and he was extremely flattered that he came on board to do the remix!

The Tycho tour continues into 2016 including a show at The Exchange in LA on February 13 and an appearance at the CRSSDFest, happening in San Diego on March 5/6.
