Tokimonsta is an LA-based beat maker signed to Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. She defies musical classifications and creates some of the most original sonic textures in music today. Her latest release, Midnight Menu (on Japanese label Art Union Recordings) is an instrumental head bobbing experience that will stay in heavy in rotation in my record bag, especially her track “Sa Mo Jung.”
She has a few live dates around town next month, including an August 25 appearance at Low End Theory that will serve as her album release party.
