For the past few years, Jenny O. has toured with prolific songwriters such as Father John Misty, Leon Russell, and Rodriguez. But she recently took a break from the road and recorded her sophomore album, Peace & Information, with in-demand producer Jonathan Wilson.
On the new album, Jenny O. tackles her recent life challenges, including difficult relationships and a move. As she explains, “These aren’t necessarily the songs I wanted to write, but they were the ones I had to write.”
Today, we premiere a new track from the album that demonstrates a new side of Jenny O.: “People” has a slight country feel, folded with her brilliant songwriting. The album was recorded to tape, giving it a warm feeling which comes out on this single. Hearing it makes me feel like I was in the room while they were recording.
