Friday, January 1, Chris Douridas guest hosts Morning Becomes Eclectic for a look back at the highlights of 2009 – the year’s best releases, most compelling live sessions, and stunning debuts from 9am to noon.

Tuesday, January 5, Actor Jason Schwartzman has spent a lot of time on KCRW’s airwaves as a musician, under the name Coconut Records. We’ll hear what makes him tick and he’ll share some of his favorite songs when he joins Jason Bentley as guest deejay on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Wednesday, January 6
, KCRW championed Norah Jones early in her career and we’re proud to say the Grammy-award winning singer made her radio debut here. While she’s normally seated at the piano, we’re looking forward to her picking up a guitar and rocking out on songs from her latest release on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

Friday, January 8, Dueling guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela cut their teeth in metal bands but really shred when it comes to their Flamenco-inspired covers. They were the audience favorite at KCRW’s benefit show A Sounds Eclectic Evening a few years ago and you’ll hear why when they return to Morning Becomes Eclectic to play tributes to their favorite guitarists at 11:15am.

Monday, January 11
, Vampire Weekend made a huge splash with their debut and are back with more of their Afro-pop inspired music. They added a special touch for this live session – a string and horn section.  Hear songs from their highly anticipated sophomore release when they return to Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.

**Also in January, we welcome a new voice to the airwaves when Chuck P fills in for DJ Michael Barnes on Wednesdays (midnight to 3am), from January 6 to February 24.  Chuck P has worked his way up and down the West Coast as a DJ and producer. He started out in Washington and San Diego before settling into Los Angeles as the host of “Dead Air,” a show focusing on emerging artists, on the late Indie 103.1. **
