Preview a week’s worth of Today’s Top Tune as we turn to artists such as Azure Ray’s Maria Taylor, who celebrates her solo album with a record release party at The Troubadour on December 11. Explore Shepard Fairey’s new project, NØISE. Former NYU professor Guillermo E Brown unleashes work as Pegasus Warning. Luke Top of Fool’s Gold has a new outlet as ADLT VDEO, and The xx gives us a sneak peek to their highly anticipated third album.

Monday, Dec 5 Maria Taylor: Free Song from In the Next Life

Maria Taylor cut her teeth as one half of the duo Azure Ray and by playing with Bright Eyes. Taylor, a veteran at chronicling her life experiences shares “Free Song.”

Tuesday, Dec 6 NØISE: the title track from Little Lions

Artist and DJ Shepard Fairey teams up with veteran musicians John Goff, Merritt Lear and Joe Cassidy to become NØISE. Inspired by New Wave, electronica and pop, their new album includes remixes by Z- Trip, Phil Hartnoll of Orbital, Moby and The Crystal Method. But we are partial to the original, the title track to Little Lions.

Wednesday, Dec 7 Pegasus Warning: Building a Bridge from PwEP2

Guillermo E. Brown is a drummer/percussionist with deep roots in the free jazz movement that seep into his electronic-inspired work. You can catch him playing alongside Reggie Watts as part of the house band on the Late Late Show with James Corden, but it’s his work as Pegasus Warning that we focus on as we turn to “Building a Bridge.”

Thursday, Dec 8 ADLT VDEO: Break

Los Angeles based duo ADLT VDEO is what happens when two artists come together to re-imagine the genres that once defined them. Moby vocalist Mindy Jones and Fool’s Gold co-founder Luke Top each bring their expertise for a shapeshifting sound defined by big propulsive beats on “Break.”

Friday, Dec 9 The xx: On Hold from I See You

2017 will see the release of the highly anticipated third album by The xx. I See You will also mark a new sonic era for the London trio whose provocative work is invigorated by an expansive approach on the first new song, “On Hold.”
