Monday, February 6
NYC duo Sofi Tukker will duke it out for Best Dance Recording against some heavy competition from Riton,The Chainsmokers, Bob Moses and Flume with its debut single “Drinkee.” Pretty sweet place to be for an outfit that’s still working on its debut album.

Gaby Moreno: Estaré from Ilusión
Born in Guatemala and based in Los Angeles, Gaby Moreno is already the recipient of a Latin Grammy. Now she’s awaiting the verdict on Best Latin Pop Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. Produced by Gabe Roth, known for his work with Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings and co-founder of Dap Tone Records, her most popular song on the album Ilusión is “Estaré,” a soulful acoustic song of hope.

Bon Iver: 33 “GOD” from 22, a Million
In 2012, Bon Iver swept up Grammy wins for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. This year, Justin Vernon, aka Bon Iver, is back in the hot seat for Best Alternative Music Album with an album that made many Top 10 lists at KCRW alone! Fingers crossed for 22, a Million which contains the great 33 “God.“

De La Soul: Pain (feat. Snoop Dogg) from And the Anonymous Nobody
De La Soul called its 2016 self-release And the Anonymous Nobody, a fitting name for an album financed by a Kickstarter campaign. Three years of work and more than 200 hours of recording with the Rhythm Roots All Stars, produced 17 tracks that include a wild variety of guests, including Usher, Little Dragon and David Byrne. Up for Best Rap Album, we celebrate the nomination with Snoop Dogg joining De La Soul on “Pain.”
